Wulf Gaertner Autoparts to help Nepal earthquake victims
Any support will help relieve the sufferings of the people hit by the devastating earthquake in Nepal. Hamburg manufacturer Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG has decided to take immediate action to launch a fund-raising campaign dedicated to benefiting SOS Children’s Villages in this catastrophe-stricken Himalayan state. The initiative resonates strongly with the company’s employees.
In the 1950s, Wulf Gaertner, founder of what is now an automotive spare parts manufacturer with a global footprint, spent many years living and working in South America. His commitment to SOS Children’s Villages dated back to that period of his life. Ever since, the company has been carrying on his legacy, supporting institutions dedicated to helping children in need. “With the dramatic situation unfolding in Nepal and mindful of the company’s humanitarian commitment we are united in our effort to try and help alleviate at least some suffering”, emphasizes Marita Schwartze, Head of HR and Board member at Wulf Gaertner Autoparts. “We are always impressed with how naturally our employees take ownership of our campaigns, if not launching one on their own initiative.” Ever since the disastrous news broke, there has been a collecting box at the company’s head offices where employees can make donations which will shortly be transferred together with the contribution made by the Board of Managers. During his lifetime, Wulf Gaertner also initiated and promoted fund-raising drives.
