Wolf Lubricants Extends WRC Partnership In Multi-Year Deal

Wolf Lubricants has signed a multi-year extension with WRC Promoter to continue as a premium partner of the FIA World Rally Championship.

The extension beyond the previously agreed end-date of 2022 means the live TV Wolf Power Stage will continue as the exciting finale to every WRC round over the coming seasons, as drivers fight for vital bonus points through the Sunday lunchtime speed test.

The Belgian producer became the WRC’s Official Lubricant Partner in 2019, introducing its cutting-edge lubricants for the first time to the world’s most prestigious motorsport series for production-based cars.

Both parties are delighted with the success of Wolf’s initial period in the championship, during which the company also provided significant support for the FIA Junior WRC. The company’s backing for the sport’s young hot-shots will also continue.

“It’s a huge vote of confidence in the championship from Wolf,”  said Thomas Tap, the Director Marketing & Sponsoring of WRC Promoter. “This extension comes against the backdrop of Covid-19, which has had, and continues to have, a significant effect on the global economy.

“Despite these difficulties and this period of uncertainty, Wolf Lubricants has proved to be a strong partner, remains totally committed to the series and supports the WRC into the future. The rally-closing Wolf Power Stage has become synonymous with drama and excitement as drivers chase bonus points in front of a huge global live TV audience. It has become must-watch television for fans and will continue under our extended agreement.”

The Belgium-based company was founded in 1955 and has become a leading name in the industry.

It specialises in tailored, technology-enhanced lubricants, meeting and often exceeding latest industry standards and specifications, which are approved by the world’s leading car manufacturers.

Wolf produces oils and fluids for engines, transmission, brakes and steering. It has a wide product range, including cars, heavy duty vehicles, motorcycles, marine and agricultural machinery.

Yves Decat, Global Brand & Experience Manager at Wolf Lubricants, expressed his excitement over the extended agreements.

“With our partnership with such a prestigious motorsport as WRC, we do not only build on our brand’s continuous growth of the last years, but we also enjoy our technical collaboration with Junior WRC, which provides us with the perfect platform to develop cutting-edge lubricants to be later introduced to our product ranges,” Decat said.

“The extension of our partnership comes as a validation of our commitment to be a strong partner for WRC – no matter how challenging the circumstances are.

“After two successful seasons, we cannot be more excited to ring the next phase of development. We now look forward to reflecting Wolf’s continuous drive for precision in the WRC’s thrilling stages and can’t wait to see the winner of the 2021 Wolf Power Stage rankings.”
