Maserati has concluded an exclusive international Driving Experience that placed its latest GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Grecale models in the spotlight. Held between July 12 and 25 in and around Trieste, Italy, the event brought together more than 100 automotive journalists from around the world to experience the Italian luxury brand’s newest grand touring lineup.
The media drive also formed part of Maserati’s celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the iconic Trident logo and the centenary of the brand’s first motorsport victory at the 1926 Targa Florio.

Trieste Provides the Perfect Stage for Italian Grand Touring
Set between the Adriatic Sea and the dramatic Karst plateau, Trieste offered an ideal environment for showcasing Maserati’s latest vehicles. The region’s combination of scenic coastal highways, mountain roads and sweeping countryside allowed participants to experience the balance of luxury, performance and driving dynamics that defines the Maserati brand. The route also highlighted Maserati’s philosophy of Italian Grand Touring, where elegant design, advanced engineering and everyday usability come together in a single driving experience.
Celebrating a Historic Racing Legacy
The Driving Experience paid tribute to Maserati’s historic connection with the legendary Trieste–Opicina Hill Climb, one of Italy’s most prestigious motorsport events held between 1911 and 1971.
Known as the “Uphill Monza,” the race witnessed several Maserati victories, including Franco Bordoni’s triumph in a Maserati 300 S in 1955, Adolfo Tedeschi’s victory with the Maserati 200 SI Spider in 1957 and Mennato Boffa’s success in the iconic Maserati Tipo 60 “Birdcage” in 1960.
These historic roads provided a fitting backdrop for demonstrating the capabilities of Maserati’s latest generation of performance vehicles.
