Maserati GT2 celebrates 2025 successes

The 2025 season for Maserati Corse – which only returned to closed-wheel car championships in 2023 – has ended extremely positively, with even more titles to add to the House of the Trident's historic trophy haul.

With the LP Racing team’s Maserati GT2, Philippe Prette took the title in the Am Class of the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli[1], retaining champion status to follow his previous win in 2024. On 22 November, Prette received the honour at the annual SRO Motorsports Group Awards, held at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Venice as the crowning glory of an exemplary season in which he won 10 of 12 races and secured the title for the LP Racing team.

2026 will see confirmation of the Modena-based manufacturer’s cars’ inclusion in the GT2 European Series championship (debuting in Monza on 30-31 May), with Maserati joining the SRO GT Academy project announced at the most recent 24 Hours of Spa.
This new format includes a new Silver class, to award the SRO GT Academy title to the winner. A car from the House of the Trident (or another brand) will therefore be running in an entire season in the Silver or Pro Am class in the GT World Challenge Europe – Endurance Cup, starting from 2027.

Looking ahead to the new year: over 20 series. Over 170 races per year. Over 100 race weekends from January to December. Maserati GT2 is ready to excel in the major closed-wheel series around the world. Now added to this panoply of championships, the US International GT series will for the first time be flinging open its shutters to both the Maserati GT2 and MCXtrema, in the GTX category.
The International GT Championship takes the greatest GT cars of the day to legendary circuits: the first race of the new season will take place at Sebring over the weekend of 26 February to 1 March, followed by Road Atlanta (12-15 March), Lime Rock (21-23 May), Mid-Ohio (11-14 June), Road America (25-28 June), Watkins Glen (16-19 July), VIR (17-20 September),Laguna Seca (2-4 October), Barber (16-18 October) and COTA (5-8 November).
