2025 Kia Carnival Gets A Rugged Refresh

Kia’s updated Carnival blends SUV looks with minivan utility.

The most festive minivan is getting a refresh. For 2025, Kia is overhauling the Carnival’s design and making it an even more attractive option for the modern minivan enthusiast. The company hasn’t disclosed any interior or powertrain changes but has confirmed some new colors that are headed this minivan’s way.

Under the hood, we expect to see the same 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 from the current Carnival, though a slight bump from the current 290 hp wouldn’t be out of the question. The eight-speed transmission, too, will likely carry over during this styling update.

The exterior gets a new front fascia, which further accentuates the current boxy shell. The biggest departure from the current models is the new headlight design, with better-integrated signature lighting and vertically stacked headlights. The new front signature lighting is mimicked at the rear, which helps tie the whole design together. The license plate has also been moved lower on the rear hatch.

Even though details about a US-spec Carnival are still to come, you can expect it will look largely like what you see here. With 2023 running out of pages on your calendar, the US-market Carnival should be showing its face shortly.
